THIS IS SOMETHING I HAVE TO DO!

Almost everyone knows someone who is a marathon finisher or someone that knows someone who is a marathon finisher. For some reason the idea for you to become that person is far fetched. We are here to tell you that it is possible. Approximately 33% of our 2008 ING Miami Marathon® finishers were "First Timers". Our race is considered to be extremely "First Timer" friendly. We cater to all types of persons, competitive or not. We believe that marathoning has become a sport or activity for all. It is one of the world's most democratic sports, anyone can do it. Nothing special needed, all you need is training, running shoes, and that's about it.

We invite you to browse our site to see what 15,000 participants get so excited for during the last weekend in January. You should also take note of the items listed below, as we believe that if you follow these guidelines you can be well on your way to achieving a lifetime goal, an accomplishment that leads to a healthier and more enjoyable you. We must warn you, 70% of the "First Timers" go back for another one... therefore, chances are quite high this activity will become a regular habit for you. This can be a life changing event for you. The memory lasts forever.
