Runners can choose from an array of charities, allowing for thousands of dollars to be raised each year using the Miami Marathon and Half Marathon® and ancillary events as a medium to do so. Since 1988, when the first team of TNT marathoners was formed, the program has helped more than 540,000 people achieve their dream of completing a marathon, half marathon, triathlon, 100-mile (century) bicycle ride or hike adventure, and those participants have raised a remarkable $1.2 billion. For over 30 years, Family Resource Center of South Florida (FRC) has been dedicated to the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect through the strengthening of families. In the past year, Family Resource Center provided services to more than 2,5000 children, adolescents and adults in Miami-Dade County. We are assembling a team of participants for the 2012 ING Miami Marathon® on January 29, 2012. Everyone who commits to run with our team and to raise at least $200 will receive a commemorative Marathon singlet that will be available exclusively to members of the FRC team. The money you raise will go to Family Resource Center of South Florida to continue to provide care to abused and neglected children. |
