Getting There on Race Day

Metrorail and Metromover

Going to the race in the early morning? Participants are encouraged to obtain Metrorail $2 per trip tickets (one-way, round-trip $4) and pre-printed parking permits for $4 at the Nissan Health & Fitness Expo, Jan. 27-28, 2012. Metromover service is free.

To ride Metro-Rail, you need an EASY Card as the faregates do not accept cash. EASY Cards will be sold at the Expo.

Metrorail trains will depart the southern most station (Dadeland South) and the northernmost station (Palmetto) starting at 4:45 AM. Metrorail service will pick-up at all stops along the way to the Government Center station in downtown Miami. Once at the Government Center Station, participants should transfer to the Metromover's Downtown or Omni Loops to the following stations:

• Start Line Access - Freedom Tower or College/Bayside Station
• Finish Line Access - Bayfront Park and College/Bayside Station
• ING Cheering Zone - Omni Station
* Participants are strongly encouraged to arrive 15 minutes early to ensure they get on the train.

Metrorail Service:

• Service will provided every 15 minutes from 5 AM until 5:30 AM (Trains depart at 5 AM, 5:15 AM, 5:30 AM).
• Service will be adjusted to the regular 30-minute Sunday schedule after 5:30 AM.

Metromover Service:

• Metromover will provide regular Sunday service beginning at 5 AM.

Metrorail Parking Fee: $4

• Marathon participants can park at Metrorail stations for $4 all day on January 29. Metrorail parking facilities will open at 5 AM.

• To avoid long lines the day of the event, we encourage participants to purchase their Transit Fare media prior to January 29. For more information, race participants can visit MDT's website at www.miamidade.gov/transit. Or call 305.891.3131, Monday-Friday, from 7 AM to 8 PM, and on Saturdays, from 8 AM - 5 PM.

Race Morning Shuttles
For those of you who purchased race morning shuttle tickets, you must pick up your tickets at the Shuttle Information Booth at the Nissan Health and Fitness Expo Presented by The Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald. Tickets may still be available for purchase online or at the Expo for $15 for one-way trip, and $20 for round trip.

Pre Race Loading: Shuttles will be leaving the Miami Beach Convention Center at 4 AM to ensure timely arrival at the Start Line.

Post Race Loading: Post Race shuttles will operate from 8 AM to 1 PM. Shuttle loading will be located at Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus (NE 2 Ave between NE 3 & 4 Streets).

Directions to shuttles from Finish Line: Walk to the end of the finish line chute & make a left at NE 3 Street, NE 2 Ave is a block away.

Driving There

Driving into Downtown
To avoid delays due to road closures please follow these directions to arrive in Downtown Miami. These directions will get you to the Downtown area adjacent to the Start Line at the American Airlines Arena. DO NOT USE BRICKELL AVENUE BRIDGE.

From the North
I-95 South to Exit 3B, which is NW 8th Street. Go left onto NW 8th Street. Take 8th Street east into Downtown.

From the South
I-95 North to Exit 2B NW 2nd Street. Go north to NW 5th Street and make a right towards Biscayne Blvd.

From Westbound on MacArthur Causeway (I-395)
Exit at Biscayne Blvd. Go south into Downtown.

From Eastbound on SR 836/I-395 (Dolphin Expressway)
Exit at NE 2nd Ave. Go South into Downtown.

Race Day Parking

We encourage participants to use shuttles or Metro-Rail/MetroMover to get to Downtown on race morning. Parking will be available at lots and garages throughout Downtown Miami and participants should plan to arrive no later than 5 AM to secure parking.

We recommend using lots operated by the Miami Parking Authority or the garages at American Airlines Arena and Bayside Marketplace.
