The convenient environment of the ING Miami Marathon and Half Marathon® start & finish lines, Expo, and
awards ceremony allow for commuting to be a breeze.
All race weekend events, with the exception of the
parties on South Beach, are all within a half mile radius.
This makes it easy for you if you are coming from out of town.

How to get to the start line:

From the North:

I-95 South to Exit 3B (the old 5A), which is NW 8th Street. Go left onto NW 8th Street. Take 8th Street east to Biscayne Boulevard

From the South:
I-95 North to NW 2nd Street (Exit 2B).
Go north to NW 5th Street and turn right.
From Eastbound on SR 836 (Dolphin Expressway):
Exit at NE 2nd Avenue.
Go south to NE 8th Street and turn left.
From Westbound on MacArthur Causeway
(I-395):

Exit at Biscayne Boulevard.
Go south to NE 8th Street and turn left.

We do not recommend using exit 2A. It may be backed up. We recommend using the MetroRail and MetroMover to arrive in the Downtown area and give yourself plenty of time to find parking if you decide to drive into Downtown Miami.

Public Transportation Inbound:

Using the Miami-Dade MetroRail & MetroMover:Miami Dade Transit

The MetroRail will depart from Dadeland Station South at 4:30 AM and trains will run continuously to the Government Center station. Transfer to the MetroMover, which has a 2-car express service to the Freedom Tower station (closest to start line). MetroMover will be running 24 hours.

In order to find out if where you are staying for the race has a bus stop nearby that runs service to the start line, you can use an interactive service provided by Miami-Dade Transit and their transit partners. You simply fill out the form (with Hotel address, time you wish to depart and arrive, etc.) and a recommended plan will be displayed.

Parking costs...SHOW YOUR RACE NUMBER FOR DISCOUNTS!
Please keep in mind that private lots are available throughout the area but some of these will charge between $10-$30 to park (depending on their proximity to the start line). Don't try and park too close to the start line because you may get caught in traffic.

Don't Get Towed!
If you park at a bagged meter or at a location that has a tow-a-way stick you will probably get towed. Many of these spaces are rented for the marathon and the Miami Parking Authority has been instructed to tow!

PLAN ON ARRIVING BEFORE 5 AM!
Expect to jog a few short blocks, the start and finish are 700 meters away from each other. Also, remember that Gear Check is at the finish line.

*The ING Miami Marathon® doesn't operate any parking facilities. We only encourage runners and their families to use Miami Parking Authority facilities and other affiliated partner lots/garages.

Taxi...
Those staying in Miami Beach might want to simply take a cab (shouldn't cost more than $10). Just tell the cab driver to take you as close as he can to Biscayne Blvd near the American Airlines Arena (white circular looking building) or The Miami Herald building is close as well. Cab company number is (305) 888-8888.

Miamarina at BaysideBy Boat...
Boating to the finish line and start line is also possible. As the stars of the MTV Music Awards recently did, you too can make a unique red carpet entrance by coming to the Miami Mainland via boat and parking on the east side of Bayside Marketplace. For more information click here.
