  • 6:05 a.m. (EST) wheelchair participants 
  • 6:15 a.m. (EST) marathon participants
All participants need to be in the runner corrals no later than 5:55 a.m. Corrals will close at that time. Participants are asked to adhere to 'courtesy corralling.' Start corrals will not be labeled with bib numbers this year, instead with corresponding letter & color; please

find your appropriate corral.

ING Miami Marathon® Medals & Awards:

ALL finishers will receive the most unique finisher's medal ever designed for runners.

Please note: To our knowledge, the ING Miami Marathon® was the first race in the world to have a spinning medal. It is now the first to have a double spinner and the first to include a diamond! The spinning medal idea originated at our race in 2004.

All runners will also receive an Official Finisher's Certificate showing their Official Finishing Time and Place.

*Please note that all age group awards are based on ChampionChip time, NOT gun time. However, course records and prize money will be determined according to gun time.

2008 'Diamond Medal Giveaway' Sweepstakes:

In celebration of the 2008 new spinning medal, organizer's have teamed up with Richard's Gems and Jewelry to giveaway two One Carat Unset Diamonds.

We will be conducting two sweepstakes - the "Marathon Diamond Medal Sweepstakes" and "Half Marathon Medal Diamond Sweepstakes".

Registered participants of the half marathon and full marathon will be automatically included into their respective sweepstake drawings. One entry from the "Marathon Diamond Medal Sweepstakes" and one from the "Half Marathon Diamond Medal Sweepstakes"  will be randomly selected during the starting ceremonies. 

The winning race number will be posted at Richard's Gems and Jewelry in downtown miami shortly thereafter, and remain posted for 5 days at the store. After you finish your race, just head on over to Richard's Gems and Jewelry to see if your Bib Number is the winning Bib! Richard's Gems and Jewelry is located at: 33 E. Flagler St.

Awards

If you are not present to receive your award during the awards ceremony, shipping and handling charges will apply if you request award to be mailed. We ask that you pick-up your award at the awards ceremony to avoid having to send via mail.

ING Marathon Timing and Scoring:

  • The ING Miami Marathon uses the ChampionChip timing system. Supplied and administered by Splitsecondtiming.com
  • All participants who do not own a Yellow ChampionChip will receive a Black ChampionChip in their race packet distributed at the TotalHealth & Fitness Expo Presented by The Miami Herald.
  • If the participant owns a ChampionChip and will be using it for the ING Miami Marathon®, the number must be provided in the application.
  • Participants who do not own a ChampionChip and will be using the Black ChampionChip will need to return it after the race. A $30 charge will be assessed if the ChampionChip is not returned.
  • Participants MUST wear their ChampionChip. NO chip, NO time.
  • ChampionChip mats will be placed at the start line, 10K, 13.1 Mile, 30K mark and finish line. 
  • Chips for the ING marathon and ING Half Marathon® will NOT work for the Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Florida Tropical 5K Benefiting Community Partnership for Homeless.
